Alexander Absenger
Actor for Stage, Film and Television | Voice Artist for Dubbing, Voice-Over and Commercials
Raised in Graz in 1985, Alexander Absenger trained at the Conservatory of the City of Vienna (now MUK – Music and Arts University of Vienna).
He began his stage career with roles at Theater der Jugend, Schauspielhaus Magdeburg, Theater Osnabrück, and Theater in der Josefstadt. Guest performances brought him to Thalia Theater Hamburg, HKD Teatar Rijeka, and Bozen. He has collaborated with acclaimed directors including Claudia Bauer, Mateja Koležnik, Nina Mattenklotz, Amélie Niermeyer, David Bösch, Elmar Goerden, Jan Jochymski, Marc Lunghuß, and Sascha Hawemann. His work on stage earned him nominations for the Nestroy Theatre Prize in 2015 and 2017, and he won the award in 2020.
Alongside his theatre work, Alexander has increasingly appeared in film and television. His screen credits include “Vienna Blood”, “Tatort”, “Stinatz-Krimi”, and “Tage, die es nicht gab” (Days That Never Were), where he showcases a wide acting range – from nuanced character roles to sharp performances.
He is also an accomplished voice actor, working across dubbing, voice-over, audio drama, and commercials for both national and international productions.
